Make The Bible Your Prayer Book (Part 2)
Along with more specific promises God gives you, here are some things that we know are God’s will in any situation.
Cry out to God for contentment and the discernment to know if it’s to be contentment with the battle to change your circumstances or contentment with the circumstances as they are.
Phil. 4:13 Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
God wants us to have an unshakeable and abiding peace.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Also Phil. 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God is always working in every situation to focus our faith. We can always pray for faith that is focused on Him alone.
II Cor. 1:8,9 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves in order that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
Once again, Make the Bible your prayer book and plead the promises of God!
