Virtual Micro Prayer Group

Ideas/Mere Suggestions

-meet in groups of 3-5 people of same gender and to add a 6th, go to 2 groups of 3.

-invite people of similar heart and mind to join you.  Philippians 2:1-2

-aim at 45 minutes total with at least 25 minutes of actual prayer. (give yourselves permission to stay current with each other.)

-face to face is great but virtual is convenient with tremendous flexibility on time and individual location. Use a convenient/free app like Signal, WhatsApp, Google Meet, etc. where once the group is set you hit an icon and begin a video chat with the whole group.

Further suggestions on guiding practices

-use a ‘conversational prayer’ format (pray one topic at a time giving others opportunity to join in on it, free to change after a pause.)

-do not rush the time, let the Spirit lead (and not the list of urgent needs).  (If the whole time is spent in Praise and Thanksgiving, well done. God already knows the needs. Matthew 6:7-8)

-mention the needs but plead the character of God and His promises i.e. who He is and what He’s promised regarding that need.

-circles of influence categories to consider:  personal/family/local church/city  —  state  —  nation  —  world

-expect spiritual warfare.

“Satan dreads nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, he mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.”
