God Knows What He Intends

“A lot of fairly mature believers think God is like a genie in a bottle.  Let’s ask for something and. poof, it’s going to happen.  And if it doesn’t, then somehow He didn’t hear us or we did or said something wrong. God does have a plan; we need to get attuned to it, not the other way around!!!!  God’s answers are the right ones for His purpose! He WILL reward our faithfulness, but it might not be on this earth, and it might not be now!” (Ray D.)

Do you agree?

When Jesus was about to feed the 5,000 He asked Philip how they could feed such a large crowd. John 6:6 says, He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do (NIV).

Maybe a good way to start our prayer is, “Lord, you already know what you intend to do.”  It sets a trajectory for our prayer of getting in step with God and lifts the burden of thinking we have to figure out exactly what to pray for.

Isaiah 14:24 The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, ‘Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened and just as I have planned so it will stand.’

Keep in mind that God’s will is “good, well pleasing and perfect.”  Rom. 12:2  You really can’t improve on it.
