Faith Grows by Persistence in Coming
Recall: The great invitation by God to all through the finished work of Jesus is, “Come.” Our needs are met when we come to Jesus. In Him alone is real life and life overflowing.
John 6:37b the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.
Phil.4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
But sometimes the coming seems really difficult with so many distractions and obstacles. We can feel crippled by the pain and confused by the ‘Why did God let this happen? Can I trust Him?’ questions.
This is the place where faith grows. This is the time to ‘walk by faith (what God says is true) not by sight (what seems to be true)’. II Cor. 5:7
Our efforts to move toward God are often very feeble and small; but remember the example of Moses lifting up the bronze serpent in the wilderness – all who were bitten by a deadly serpent and simply looked at it in obedience lived.
In the same way Jesus was lifted up (on the cross) on our behalf that all who look to Him in obedient faith will live (have life to the full John – 10:10; have all they need for life and godliness – II Pet. 1:3)
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
Keep looking to Jesus today for the BIG THINGS and the small things – actually ‘everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving…’ (Phil. 4:6)
