Come to Jesus

The great invitation by God to all through the finished work of Jesus is, “Come.”

Isaiah 55:1 “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

Matt. 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

John 6:37b  “…the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.”

Satan came to Jesus in the wilderness to tempt Him.  The religious leaders came to Jesus to discredit and deny Him.  Some came for ‘entertainment’, to see something spectacular.  Some came for a free meal/handout, wanting to feel better.  Some came to get His help and blessing to carry out their own plans, dreams, and aspirations.

Why do you come to Jesus?  (“I don’t”, is an answer but you’re missing out on so much.)

As followers of Jesus we can come boldly/freely/confidently/without hesitation to Him and receive unlimited mercy and grace – real help.  Heb. 4:16

Satan cannot prevent people from coming to Jesus.  He can/does blind minds, but even the demoniac Legion was able to (had to) come to Jesus and bow down.  Satan engineers roadblocks/traps/detours but these are not insurmountable.  Rev. 12:11

The key for every person is to come to Jesus.  But we must come believing He is and that He rewards those who truly seek Him.  Heb. 11:6

Pray to that end.  Pray for others to that end.  Then work to that end – helping family/friends/acquaintances/even your enemies come to Jesus.
